Hello there readers!

Every since I was a young girl I had a deep love of writing. When I was in grade 3 I had received my very first journal (which I still have to this day), and since then I have bought and filled up too many to count! If you also have a love of journals and stationery, please continue below where I explain in the post to follow the 3 journals that I use daily.

Daily Journal/Diary

My daily journal, purchased from Michael’s craft store.

In this journal, I write the typical “how my day went” gab that you see everywhere. I just really enjoy writing about my day, what I did, what I am feeling, etc. I think that it is so amazing to re-read old journals and see what you were doing, or where your “mind-set” was at in a particular stage of your life. I have many, many journals spanning from 2006 – to present day. ISN’T THAT INSANE?! All of these years of my life, are cataloged into these tiny little books. Otherwise, forgotten. But within the pages, they are forever immortalized. What is written inside would definitely make 20yr old me cringe, but perhaps at a later time in life, once I am married with children or even an old grandmother, my children could read them and learn a lot about me from when I was growing up. That is a very far off and distant dream though. For now, they sit in a box in my closet, while the newer ones are on display on my desk. Occasionally I will skim them, looking for important information I had written down, or when I am sad I will re read a very happy time in my life and reminisce. I would definitely recommend keeping a journal on your life. You DO NOT have to write in it every day. I usually write in it a few times a week, at the end of my day before bed. Sometimes, I would skip a week or two, and then just pick back up where I had left off. There are no set “rules” when it comes to journaling. You can write whatever you wish.

Bullet Journal

My bullet journal, (Leuchtturm 1917) purchased at Chapters.

The next journal I keep is less of a “journal” and more of a day-to-day planner. I love how organized it keeps me! I can track daily events, work and school schedules, to do lists, my habits, my expenses, etc. It also allows for reflection on your day-to-day life, and allows you to keep track of literally ANYTHING. The thing that I love most about bullet journaling is that you design each and every page the way that you want to. You can experiment until you find a style and layouts that fit your specific needs. In my bullet journal, I even include “brainstorming” pages, for new projects, school assignments, or other events. Now I can even make some about future blog post ideas! Haha.

One Line A Day Journal

My One Line A Day journal, purchased at Chapters.

The One Line A Day Journal, has to be my favourite gift that I received from Christmas this past year! The concept of it is great, and not time-consuming as the others may be. You write one or two sentences about your day, every day. That’s it, that’s all. Simple. “Why is this a journal idea?” you may ask. Well in this book it gives you room to write a sentence, every day, FOR FIVE YEARS! I find this so amazing, because if I want to see how I was doing at a particular time, say 3yrs ago for example. I would have to hunt down old journals and skim the pages looking for a specific date. With the One Line A Day Journal, everything is in one place. You are able to reflect on life, and see how you were doing on that exact day, one, two, three, or four years ago. It allows you to create a brief record of your daily life and build a record of your life over the course of 5 years. I am currently almost done filling up the section for my first year writing in 2018. I am so excited to see where the next 4 years will take me! One thing I realized was that in this one little journal I will have written about my very first day at University, and over the course of the next 4 years, I will also write about my very last day once I graduate. 5 years may not seem like a lot of time, but so much can change!

Hopefully you enjoyed reading a bit of a more “in-depth” look, on the journals that I currently write in daily. Do you journal as well? Do you use any of the journals I mentioned above or would you like to start journaling? I would LOVE to hear about your experiences in the comments below or email me!

Stay Creative,
